The Oakville A's entered Monday nights game against the Burlington Brant's riding a six game losing streak, as they turned to rookie RHP Matt Reagan to end the skid. Opposing Reagan would be RHP Cam Ryerson making his first start against the A's this season.

The A's would strike first in the bottom of the first inning as Julian Richards led off the game with a HPB. With the hit and run on, Zack Dickson drove a single to right field moving Richards to third with runners on the corners and nobody out. With Andrew Kotulak at the plate, Dickson would be thrown out attempting to steal second, however Richards would come into score on the double steal to put the A's up 1-0. The first inning run would end up being all the A's needed as they cruised to a 7-0 victory.

Oakville A's history was nearly made Monday, as Matt Reagan flirted with a no-hitter holding the Brant's hitless for 8 2/3 innings. Reagan was perfect through the first three innings, before issuing a leadoff walk to begin the fourth. The walk went for naught as Reagan quickly retired the next three batters in order to close out the inning. The fifth inning began with a fly ball to left field that was misplayed and dropped to give the Brant's a runner in scoring position to begin the inning. Reagan wouldn't be phased as he would retire three of the next four hitters (one walk) to end the inning with the no-no still intact. Jump to the ninth inning as Reagan would make that final long walk to the mound looking to make A's history. He would quickly retire the first two hitters of the inning via ground out and fly out, setting the scene for a showdown with the Brant's right fielder Trevor Woodjetts. With two outs, two strikes, and a no-hitter on the line, Woodjetts would play spoiler as he lined a single to right field that landed inches from the foul line for the Brant's one and only hit on the night. Reagan's final line would read 9 innings, allowing one hit, one walk, while striking out five in a masterful performance.

Other notable performances on the night were Zack Dickson going 2-for-5 with two RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored, and Curtis Braun who finished the night 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI, two walks, and two runs scored.

Next up for the A's is a home game Wednesday, as they play hosts to the Mississauga Twins in a makeup game from a previously postponed game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 pm @ Oakville Park.
